Ceylon Tea

Sri Lanka employs over 1 million people in the tea industry, such is the scale of production in modern times. Tea plantations were established in the 19th century from plants imported from Assam and Calcutta, and since then the industry has grown to be one of the world's major exporters of high quality teas.
